Love pulled at my seams
and I raged at the shattering of my lenses.
The periphery blurred,
I could not see the horizon.
What was once a landscape of trees
Came alive as demons in disguise.
And I wept at the emergence of newly seen lies.
Cast out of belonging with my former kin,
I found myself adrift.
The only path leading within.
Across the inner desert, I set out to roam.
I walked for miles, and could not find a home.
Across the valley of fire,
Lay the oasis of grace.
I would have to lay down the shield worn upon my face.
Towards the darkness of fury I descended
Into a vortex that seemingly never ended.
And from the depths of the beast, I arose carrying a flame,
Lighting the waters on fire,
reshaping my name.
And with new eyes
I looked upon the world
Seeing that love was not a comfort from beyond
But instead the process of truth,
unfolding and evolving like a melodious song.
