It’s from my bones that I say no,
And old wisdom within them allows me to know.
From bones, longevity has rich meaning and satisfaction.
It’s from bones,
that I give structure to being.
The bones, the inner shell–
with them I can be picked up
And put into place, in space.
It’s from bones that I am held together,
Here I am.
Beautiful lace, strung inside
All the way through, knit together, the bones.
It’s upon bones that my flesh rests, and changes with the passage of time.
So, know that when you know me, you know my bones.
When you hear me, you hear my bones.
When I step toward you, I step with my bones.
It’s with bones that I weave plans into becoming
A trajectory of longevity, through time–
I am,
here and there;
My bones move through space
And it will be them that falls down, stumbling into grace.
I thank my bones for standing strong;
It’s been them that’s held me together all along.
Dance within me bones,
connect me from head to toe.
Deep in my cold bones, let heart-blood flow.
Enliven the bones!
Like a harp to be played
Deep reverberation–
Reverberating vertebrae.
Plink plunk on fingers and toes
A fork at the tip of my nose,
tuning the song of bones.
The bones hold structure to my soul,
allowing completion of a divine goal.
Calcify my airy dreams
and propel them into the future.
Contain my wandering mind–
Zip it up in my skull’s suture.
I’ll fulfill my heart’s desire, from the faithful commitment of my bones–
When I reach for God, I reach with my bones
When he takes my hand, he infuses them with Love.
A sacred marriage of I and divine will.
And when I finally lay down to sleep,
you can remember me by my bones.
You can pass my memories onward,
For the bones are the last to fade back to dust–steadfast and lasting, buried in the deep.
